Yorkshire & Humber Younger Person's Social & Information Day
The Yorkshire & Humber Younger Person's Support Group (Y&H YPSG) is run by a group of volunteers from across the region. We exist to support anyone of working age (under 67) with Parkinson's and their family/friends.
Following the success of previous years, our volunteer team is organising another annual information and social day for younger people (67 years and under) with Parkinson’s and their guests.
The day will include information from guest speakers followed by a subsidised carvery lunch and an opportunity to meet and chat to other people from around the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Event details are as follows:
- Place - Village Hotel Leeds South, Capitol Boulevard West, Tingley, Leeds, LS27 0TS.
- Date & time - 10am to 4pm on Sunday 19 October 2025. Registration, coffee, tea and pastries from 10am for a 10.30am start.
- Speaker - the main speaker is Dr Stefan Williams, Consultant Neurologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Will commence at 10.30am. Other sessions will take place during the day, with further details to follow.
- Lunch - a two course lunch is included in the ticket price
- Booking - Details to follow.
If you have any queries about the event, please contact the volunteer team at [email protected].
We also encourage and can help with the setting up of informal social groups throughout the region. So far, these run in Hull, Leeds, Rotherham, Sheffield and York. Generally, they meet socially once a month in the evening. They are a casual get together for local younger people with Parkinson's and their family/friends, providing mutual support and a chance to chat with others in a similar situation about anything and everything, not just life with Parkinson's. New members are always welcome.
