York Nordic Walking

We usually meet at 1.00pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month at a local café or pub. Walks are usually up to around 2 miles on good accessible footpaths and are led by Rebecca Gospodarczyk of Nordic Strides. We have a supply of Nordic Walking poles designed specifically for people with Parkinson’s which you might like to try. 

Here Is our programme for 2024:

28 February: Rawcliffe Lake. Meet at Lysander Arms, YO30 5TZ.

20 March: Heslington – University of York Lake and Long Biology Art trail. (Please note change of date due to Easter holidays)

24 April: Homestead Park – meet at the YHA.

17 May: ‘Madhyamaka’ Modern Buddhism Centre, Kilnwick Percy Hall, Pocklington.

26 June: Beningborough Hall.

24 July: Rowntree Park.

28 August: Askham Richard.

25 September: Knavesmire Racecourse – York walking Festival.

23 October: Millennium Green, Poppleton.

 

Everybody is welcome. Nordic Walking poles will be available to borrow. Or just bring along your own walking aids if you wish. 

Voluntary donations of £5 per person will be welcome.
