Yoga

Yoga is not just about exercise and doing difficult postures. It is accessible to everyone, no matter what their ability. Yoga can involve movement, improving posture, flexibility and balance.

This is a 6 week block booking in advance via the instructor.

The instructor also looks at strengthening the body.

Yoga means to unite – so combining the mind and body via the breath. This not only helps the physical body, but also helps to calm the mind. This has been shown to help with stress and improve our moods.

In every class we do physical postures but always end with a period of relaxation. At times the instructor also teaches simple breathing techniques and meditation.

This is a friendly welcoming group of varying abilities with the class accessible for all, including a partner/friend, as it can be good for us to do things with people we care about.

Every term we stay after class for tea and home-made cake as a group.

The teacher is open to queries/feedback and will try to tailor the class to individual needs. The intent is also to give people the confidence to do some of the postures/techniques learned outside of the class as well.

People should wear comfortable clothes that they can move in. The instructor can also cater for other people with other conditions, so give the instructor a call to discuss further.
