Wednesday morning walks for people affected by Parkinson's
Come and join us
For what? A walk of 6 km with others affected by Parkinson’s and Bhanu, a physiotherapist who has worked with people affected by the condition for over 3 decades – all of us love to chat whilst walking and during a refreshment break.
Why join in? Because Sheffield and the surrounding areas are beautiful and need visiting. Also, if you don’t know the benefits and advantages of walking for health and wellness (yes, even on cold, rainy days with mud), come and find out!
Is this really for me? If you are free on a Wednesday morning and can walk unassisted 6 (3.7 miles), then yes. These walks are for people who need more rest or a slightly slower pace than for rambling group with friends or who want longer outings than offered with the local Sheffield Health Walk Groups.
The March Wednesday morning walks continue in less slippery surroundings.
Each week, we will start at the car park off Charles Ashmore Road and take winding paths that lead us along the fields, into woodland, by ponds and into a small nature area. We will pop into the café at some point.
Please dress for March weather. Bring water, tablets and poles if you normally use these for walking.
When? March 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th 2026.
Meeting? In the carpark off Charles Ashmore Road (free, and if it is full, there is road parking) on the Wednesday morning ready to leave at 10.30am.
Address: Charles Ashmore Road, Norton, Sheffield S8 8GJ.
Cost: £5.00 per person or family unit (dogs free).
Contact: Bhanu Ramaswamy at [email protected] OR text interest to 07544 278108 and I will get back to you. You will have to fill a simple health questionnaire before being accepted for the group walks.
