Wednesday morning walks for people affected by Parkinson's

Come and join us

For what? A walk of 5 to 10km with others affected by Parkinson’s and Bhanu, a physiotherapist who has worked with people affected by the condition for over 3 decades – all of us love to chat when walking and during the after-walk cuppa.

Why join in? Because Sheffield and the surrounding areas are beautiful and need visiting. Also, if you don’t know the benefits and advantages of walking for health and wellness (yes, even on cold, rainy days with mud), come and find out!

Is this really for me? Yes, if you are free on a Wednesday morning and can walk unassisted between 5 and 10km (3 and 6 miles). These walks are for people who need more rest or a slightly slower pace than for rambling groups with friends or for longer outings than offered with the Sheffield Health Walk Groups.

Given our recent weather conditions, the February Wednesday morning walks have changed to less slippery surroundings.

During the rest of this month, we will walk from Endcliffe Park café (in a circuitous manner) until we get to Forge Dam café for a break – then find our way back.

Please dress for February weather. Bring water, tablets and poles if you normally use these for walking. Binocs may help you spot the cormorant.

When? February 11th, 18th and 25th 2026.

Meeting? By the café at Endcliffe Park on Wednesday morning ready to leave at 10.30am.

Address: Rustlings Road, Sheffield S11 7AB. If you park in the grounds, there is a parking charge.

Cost: £5.00 per person or family unit (dogs free).

Contact: Bhanu Ramaswamy at [email protected] OR text interest to 07544 278108 and I will get back to you. You will have to fill a simple health questionnaire before being accepted for the group walks.
