WALX for Parkinson's

Total Body Walking WALX is a fun and supportive session for people living with Parkinson's, designed to improve balance, posture, strength and walking confidence. Using walking poles and guided exercises, participants work the whole body while enjoying the benefits of movement in a safe and social environment. Sessions take place on our all-weather pitch, making them accessible and enjoyable throughout the year.

Sessions will last 45 minutes, and be followed by refreshments. Please wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable moving around in, and that are suitable for the weather conditions.

Please note:

  • Places are limited so must be prebooked via the Active North Yorkshire App, at Selby Leisure Centre reception or by calling 01757 213758.
  • Carers and Partners are welcome – you do not need to book a space, but you must bring your own walking poles if you have some. We only have enough poles for our participants with Parkinson's to use.

Usual class costs apply to non-members (£8.90 for adults, £6.60 for concessions). Members can book in their usual way.
