Table Tennis
Most people have played Table Tennis before but perhaps don’t realise how good it is for people with Parkinson’s - as well as being great fun!
Table tennis requires quick movements over short distances, which can help improve both large and small muscle movements. It improves hand-eye coordination, concentration and mental alertness and requires balance and rhythmic movement to play.
- We will sometimes have the assistance of a “robot” coach - perfect for anyone playing seated to improve their game.
- We recommend people wear loose clothes and non-slip shoes and bring a bottle of drinking water.
- Equipment will be provided - no need to book, just turn up.
- The rules are the almost the same as usual except we don’t play doubles.
- Friends and carers are welcome, and there's a café for anyone not playing.
