Strength and Balance

The sessions are suitable for all mobility levels. Activities are tailored to individual needs and include both seated and standing exercises.
The sessions are led by Lisa, a PSI (Postural Stability Instructor) with a Level 4 qualification. She specializes in falls prevention and adapting exercises for different physical abilities. A PSI is specially trained to deliver safe, effective exercise program designed to improve balance, strength, and coordination—particularly for older adults or those at risk of falling. Falls prevention exercises help reduce the risk of falls by improving balance, mobility, and confidence. These sessions also support independence, promote better posture, and can enhance overall quality of life.

These are friendly, inclusive sessions where participants can expect a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
Specific clothing is not required but we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and trainers. It is also recommended to bring a water bottle with you. There is also a café on site to grab a drink before or after the session.

Partners and carers are very welcome to join free of charge. The instructor can adjust activities so they can also benefit from taking part.

There are 2 designated disabled car parking spaces and a small limited car park. However, there is a car park located a two minute walk away.

Advanced booking is not required, but we do appreciate knowing in advance if you plan to attend, especially if you have any specific needs, so we can accommodate you. While drop ins are welcome, booking a block of sessions online in advance is more cost effective. Our first session is Free and then it is £3 per week.

All of our instructors are qualified to a level 4 standard, and have completed the Parkinson's UK physical activity training.
