Step Up Parkinson's Class

Various standing and sitting chair based evidence based exercises to improve posture, stability, balance and gait and improves muscle strength and confidence.

The class is suitable for all mobility needs.

The class should help participants:

  • Understand the wider benefits of exercise
  • Be motivated to build the level of exercise gradually
  • Maintain independence
  • Undertake appropriate exercise during the programme
  • Have a reduced fear of falling
  • Get up off the floor if a fall occurs
  • Have increased confidence
  • Meet others
  • Access appropriate exercise after the programme ends

Partners and carers are welcome and encouraged to join.

Loose comfortable clothing and sensible non-slip flat shoes.

Qualified Level 4 PSI Instructor/Extend Tutor will lead the class with a wealth of experience with knowledge and skills to assess the client's posture and movement capacity, identify joint dysfunctions and movement restrictions to plan and implement an effective exercise strategy. Qualified to undertake clients via GP Referrals as well.

Venue is easily accessible for all abilities, with large car park and on main bus routes.

Booking is usually required but for a limited time walk-ins are welcome to come a try out a free session.

Standard fee is £10 membership/year plus £2.70/session.
