Specialist Neurological Exercise Class (Congleton)
Join physiotherapist Olivia Brewster for a friendly, supportive neurological exercise class designed for people living with Parkinson's, MS, the effects of stroke and other neurological conditions.
Our classes focus on improving strength, balance, mobility, coordination and confidence through a combination of seated and standing exercises. We also incorporate dual-tasking activities, combining movement with cognitive challenges to encourage neuroplasticity (the brain's ability to adapt and form new connections) and support everyday movement and independence.
The class is aimed at people with mild to moderate mobility difficulties who can participate in seated exercises and, where appropriate, supported standing activities. You don't need to be particularly fit or confident, as exercises are adapted to individual abilities. Participants should be able to follow simple instructions and take part safely in a small-group setting. Please contact me if you're unsure whether the class is suitable for you.
A welcoming, relaxed environment where everyone can work at their own pace, meet others with similar experiences and enjoy exercising together. The emphasis is on maintaining and improving function while making exercise enjoyable and engaging.
Please wear comfortable clothing, supportive non-slip footwear and bring a bottle of water. All exercise equipment will be provided.
Partners and carers are very welcome to accompany participants, particularly if they require assistance or reassurance. Please let me know when booking so I can accommodate everyone comfortably.
If you have specific accessibility requirements, use a wheelchair or walking aid, or need assistance accessing the studio, please contact me beforehand so we can discuss your needs.
The cost is £12.50 per class, payable as a £50 monthly subscription.
Booking is essential as places are limited to keep the group small and supportive. A short medical questionnaire is required before attending so I can understand your needs and ensure the exercises are appropriate for you.
