Rise and Shine Pilates

If you want to improve your posture and mobility then this Pilates based class has been specifically designed for those living with Parkinson's. It provides a more gentle yet effective approach to exercise for those who prefer a seated class. It includes a variety of mainly seated exercises with some optional standing exercises too.

All of the movement is designed to address and strengthen the core muscles which in turn help to improve posture, balance and flexibility. The breathing techniques also help to increase oxygen and circulation, lung capacity and can also help to reduce stress and encourage a more focused mind. The exercises work on movements to loosen and strengthen the neck and spine, learning body awareness to help reduce pain and stiffness.

All of the exercises can be adapted to each individual’s ability so that you can achieve a greater level of physical activity without pain and with a body that works to the best of its own ability.

There are also online classes available for anyone who is not able to make it to the venue.
