Pilates and Parkinson's with the Giants
We will deliver 50 weekly sessions, each designed to enhance flexibility, balance, and core strength through a combination of pilates techniques, stretching exercises, and elements of yoga. The sessions will focus on accessible movement, ensuring that all participants, regardless of their physical ability, can engage comfortably and safely.
Inclusive Environment:
Each session will begin with a brief check-in, where participants can share their ideas, preferences, and any specific areas they would like to focus on. This participatory approach empowers individuals to help shape the sessions, fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration.
Adaptability:
Our qualified coaches will adapt exercises, pilates movements, and yoga poses to suit varying levels of ability, ensuring that everyone can join in and progress at their own pace. We will provide props, modifications, and support as needed to make sure all movements are accessible and comfortable for all participants.
The sessions are designed to be inclusive and accessible for people of all abilities. We tailor exercises to accommodate beginners through to more experienced participants, ensuring everyone can engage safely and effectively. Our coaches will provide modifications and adjustments as needed, so individuals at various levels can participate and benefit from the session.
These sessions provide a social and supportive environment, where participants can engage with others while improving their health and wellbeing. It’s a chance to meet others with similar goals, share experiences, and build a sense of community. Sessions will begin with a check-in to encourage discussion, and participants can offer input on the activities they’d like to focus on, creating a collaborative and friendly atmosphere. Participants are also encouraged and welcome to enjoy our Café area within the facility pre or post session.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Non-slip shoes or socks are recommended for safety, especially when performing floor-based movements. It’s also advised to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the session. If needed, we will provide props like mats or blocks for specific exercises.
Partners and carers are welcome to join the sessions. We aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can feel comfortable and supported during the activities.
The venue is fully accessible, with wheelchair access. Participants can enter through the main entrance of The Zone, where our designated coach will meet them upon arrival and guide them to the session. If you have any specific access requirements or concerns, please feel free to get in touch ahead of time, and we will ensure any necessary accommodations are made to support your participation.
