Physical Activity Support Programme

The programme will draw upon Tai Chi, Qigong, reflexology and chair massage.

The use of Tai Chi balls is especially valuable for people dealing with Parkinson's as the gentle gripping and rotating of the balls strengthens finger muscles, improves dexterity and supports daily hand functions such as buttoning clothes, holding utensils and writing.

The coordinated hand and wrist movements enhance strength, helping reduce stiffness and encourage smoother, more controlled motions.

Our objective is to promote a safe, inclusive and professional programme that will support patient self-esteem and confidence, enhancing their cognitive and physical wellbeing.

The programme is also designed to be adaptable to individual need and circumstances. The patient group has already seen it as a mutual support group through which they can learn from each other's experience.

Equipment is currently provided by the programme instructor and carers/partners have attended the first session and are welcome to be involved.

The venue has full access and appropriate support facilities. Owing to the level of demand it is advisable to contact the venue to express an interest.
