Parkinson's Table Tennis
The sessions are led by Steve Rowe, (a professional table tennis coach and player with more than 47 years of experience) and have proved a huge success with Parkinson's guests and carers enjoying a fun introduction to the game. Focusing on movement, balance and coordination the sessions also aim to build confidence along with the benefits of friendship and social inclusion.
Mark Singleton a Trustee at KTTC said:
"Although Parkinson's is often seen as a debilitating illness, engaging in these sessions can often help mitigate symptoms. The latter, together with the importance of delivering these in a fun way is our main goal at KTTC."
Steve Rowe added:
"All sessions are designed irrespective of whether you are an early diagnoses or existing Parkinson sufferer. We include warm-ups, fun bat-and-ball activities and plenty of time at the table. Everything is delivered in a friendly, supportive and enjoyable way. No previous table tennis experience is needed, and carers are very welcome to come along and join in"
Sessions cost £5 per person, or £3 for members of Keighley Table Tennis Club.
