Parkinson’s Physical Activity Session
The session is led by a qualified fitness coach employed by the Leisure Centre.
The session starts with some seated warm-ups (which can also be done standing) and then the remainder of the session is a mix of different activities including seated volleyball, archery, boxing and boccia. The sessions are person centred and adapted to meet the needs of all the participants.
The sessions also offer opportunities to improve social and mental health.
The sessions are supported by East Riding Active Communities and Pocklington Rugby in the Community.
- All levels of ability are welcome, including wheelchair users, activities can be done seated or standing.
- Members enjoy the fun of keeping active and a bit of healthy competition!
- Multi-sports activities help with mobility, balance, strength and cardiovascular improvements.
- Activity takes place in the sports hall, so comfy clothing and water bottle is advised.
- Partners / carers welcome.
- Price: £3 per session.
- No booking required.
- Social time afterwards, with a drink in the seated foyer area, if you wish to stay for a drink afterwards.
