Parkinson’s Keep Active Group
A supportive and active community group for people living with Parkinson’s takes place at Biddulph Youth and Community Zone, on Church Road, Biddulph, ST86NE.
We have 2 trained staff who support carers and people living with Parkinson’s.
The aim of the group is to provide physical activities for all levels, improve mental and physical wellbeing and provide opportunities to share experiences about living with Parkinson’s.
Activities, include curling, bowls, boxing, tai chi, chair-based exercise, hand massage, as well as financial support.
We have qualified trained staff to deliver tai chi, massage and chair-based exercise and a professional comes in to provide financial support. We are looking to add Nordic walking to the list of activities, delivered by a trained person.
The building is accessible, with a range for the top and bottom entrances. Grab rails help people use the steps. The group is to help people build strength, improve coordination and develop friendships.
No booking is required. You can call the Centre to find out more information.
