Parkinson's Exercise Group - Chew Valley
- This is an holistic exercise group designed purely for those living with Parkinson's and its associated diseases.
- We take a maximum of 6 people at a time, and it is run by a fully qualified physiotherapist and an assistant.
- Everyone has their own designed exercise programme following a pre-assessment visit. Everyone exercises together to increase motivation and to allow the option of socialising. We aim to take any level of mobility because we can design the exercises accordingly. We have parallel bars and a reactive light system as art of our equipment to increase the range of exercises options.
- There is also a discussion part of the time to look at areas of interest around Parkinson's or practice things like voice projection or handwriting skills
- Partners/carers are very welcome to stay whilst the group is in progress.
- The group is held at Bishop Sutton Village Hall and has ramp access and disable toilet facilities.
- Participants should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move and stretch easily, and non-slip shoes.
- Advance booking is required.
- We recommend that people attend 12 sessions to have the maximum opportunity for fully achieving and embedding their goals.
- £17 per person per session, the required pre-assessment home visit is currently free.
