PARKINSON’S BOXFIT

  • This is a fully non-contact BoxFit class, led by Jawaid Khaliq, a highly experienced Level 2 England Boxing Coach and MBE recipient for his long-standing community work. Jawaid has also completed the official England Boxing
Parkinson’s Coaching training, ensuring the sessions are safe, appropriate, and genuinely beneficial for people living with Parkinson’s.
  • Each class blends gentle cardiovascular exercises, low-impact strength movements, and simple boxing-based drills that can be adapted for all abilities. We also include cognitive elements throughout the session, such as coordination
challenges, pattern-based movements, and reaction activities; which help stimulate focus, memory, and mental sharpness alongside physical fitness.
The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and inclusive. Anyone is welcome to join, including carers, family members, and partners who may like to take part alongside their loved one. There is absolutely no sparring or physical contact at any point; the session is designed purely for wellbeing, mobility, and confidence building.
  • All equipment is provided. Participants just need to come in comfortable clothing and trainers, ready to move at their own pace in a supportive environment.
