Parkinson’s Boxercise

This 45-minute session is suitable for all fitness levels and is led by a qualified boxercise instructor with specialist knowledge of Parkinson's. 

The class is 45 minutes and includes a warmup and a cool down and incorporates non-contact boxing movements. To create an inclusive environment, exercises will be adapted to accommodate individual needs.

Carers are welcome to relax in the cafe on site at Wokingham Leisure Centre during the session.

The session will be delivered by Dakota, who currently delivers boxercise sessions for the Reading PD Branch, which everyone loves! I have included some feedback from some of the participants below:

Dakota is a ball of energy. Enthusiastic, praises us. Encourages us and I enjoy the classes

I love Dakota, she is ball of sunshine and energy. She is already adapting the needs of people with Parkinsons. Who wouldn’t be inspired by her attitude.
 

Due to balance issues am able to sit down yet still able to take part, exercises are adapted.
 

Great class – it challenges my coordination and my balance and I feel as though I have had a good workout afterwards

Parking

Parking is available in the Multi-Storey car park. Users of the leisure centre can register for up to 2 hours free of charge by using the parking machines inside the centre.

Non-members: £3.50
Members: Free
Free for premium members or clients taking part in our exercise referral programme.

Booking

Booking is recommended to secure a space. Bookings can be made via the Places Leisure website, app, or by contacting Wokingham Leisure Centre. In order to book activities online a free places leisure account will be required. This can be set up online by providing a few details.

If anyone would like some support to book on please let me know and I can arrange for a member of staff to call or meet with them.
Alternatively, people can pay on the day if they wish.
