Parkinson's Aqua Exercise group

The session will start with a water based exercise session in the pool at Water Meadows Leisure Complex followed by the opportunity to socialise and support each other.

The group will be run by an exercise referral qualified instructor with lifeguards on poolside. The exercises are suitable for beginners and will use Good Boost tablets to provide personalised exercises for you to do in the water. No technical knowledge is needed – support is there to help set it up if needed.

The sessions will help with mobility, balance and fitness. Please bring swim wear and a towel if taking part in the aqua session.

£3.50 per person per session. These sessions are included in membership, including the Healthy Life exercise referral membership.

Carers are welcome at no cost if they are not taking part in the aqua session.

This activity only runs in school term time.

  • The centre is accessible, and we have a pool hoist for those that need it.
  • Parking is available outside – anyone coming into the centre can get 90 mins free parking by inputting their vehicle registration on the tablets in the building.
  • Reduced price hot drinks are available at £1 each. Fresh water is available.

Participants are welcome to come along just to socialise if they don’t want to take part in the aqua session. Seated bowls will also be available, either as part of the social group or instead of the aqua session.
