Parkinson’s and MS physical activity group
This new session is now managed and run by East Riding Leisure, with dedicated input from trained coaches, employed by East Riding Leisure. We hope you will join us, and explore the benefits of keeping activity and having fun.
This is a physical activity session for people with Parkinson’s and MS. The session starts with seated exercises (or standing) followed by circuit activities including archery, new age Kurling, table tennis, volleyball and other team games.
The activities aim to increase your confidence to take part in physical activity and aim to improve heart health, balance, coordination and flexibility. The sessions are designed especially for people living with Parkinson’s and MS.
The session is led by Terri and Paul (on rotation) both are trained coaches employed by East Riding Leisure Centre and supported by a team of volunteers. We want to create a positive, lively atmosphere that will support and encourage you to stay active.
All abilities are welcome. Activities can be done seated or standing.
Partners and carers are welcome to join in free of charge, or watch from the cafe area, immediately outside in the seated area. The cafe is also available for drinks.
No Booking required. The cost is £3.40 per session.
Comfy clothes and a bottle of water is recommended.
