Parkinson's and Adult Disability Walking Football

Alvechurch FC Community Foundation, in partnership with Northfield Neighbourhood Network Scheme, have introduced a Parkinson’s and Adult Disability Walking Football Programme to its ever growing inclusion timetable.

Foundation ambassador for the Parkinson’s programme, and former England U21 manager, Aidy Boothroyd, will be in attendance across the year to help out with aspects of coaching and playing. Aidy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in November 2021.

The new centre aims to provide fun, inclusive and low-impact walking football sessions for people living with Parkinson’s or disabilities.

Sports clothing and football boots would be required and it's advised to bring a water bottle with you.

Session content will include warm ups, technical play, fitness and non-contact matches, providing benefits that will improve fitness, as well as boosting social, physical and mental wellbeing. Sessions are conducted at the participant's own pace.

Free to attend.

If you're interested in attending, please get in touch.
