Onwards and Sideways at Quad Cinema Derby

Join us for a special local screening of the new Parkinson's feature film, Onwards and Sideways, followed by an exclusive live Q&A session on Sunday, 15 November 2026, from 3pm, at the Quad Cinema in Derby.

The event is organised by the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and the Derby Parkinson's Team.

Written by multi-award-winning writer, comedian, and Movers and Shakers podcast co-presenter Paul Mayhew-Archer (The Vicar of Dibley), the film follows a school teacher and a composer who meet at hospital following their diagnoses and form an unexpected friendship as they navigate life with the condition.

The film premiered to acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Following the screening, attendees can take part in a live panel discussion and Q&A with writer Paul Mayhew-Archer and Specialist Parkinson's Nurse Lisa Brown.

This viewing provides a welcoming opportunity for the local Parkinson's community, family, friends, and healthcare colleagues to gather, support each other, and enjoy a fantastic movie.
