Neuro-Moves Preston
Specialist dance and movement classes for people living with Parkinson's and their friends and family.
Suitable for all abilities, dance predominantly supports with fluidity of movement, motor control, balance, coordination, movement confidence, flexibility and mobility.
Classes are £3.50 per person and no booking is required.
Classes take place at the Media Factory, University of Lancashire on Wednesdays from 2pm to 3.15pm, followed by refreshments.
There's no particular clothing or equipment required to take part, just wear something comfortable.
About the instructor
Classes are led by Dr Mel Brierley. Mel has over 30 years' professional experience and over 15 years' experience delivering specialist classes for people living with Parkinson's. She's a Churchill Fellow, founding member of the Dance for Parkinson's Partnership UK and has a PhD focusing on one to one practice for people living with Parkinson's. She has extensive training and mentoring experience in the UK and internationally.
