Neuro Heroes Functional Strength

Our Functional Strength class is a dynamic strength and conditioning session designed to work on core, upper and lower body strength and coordination in a controlled way to help you improve your Parkinson’s symptoms.

Led by a neuro physiotherapist, Functional Strength is designed for people who live with mild to moderate Parkinson’s symptoms, already exercise and can participate in standing exercise for a 45 minute session.

You’ll never see 50, or even 20 zoom faces on your screen during any Neuro Heroes class. Groups are kept small enough for the class physio to keep an eye on everyone, offer individualised feedback and make exercises easier or harder based on how participants are doing. You can take each class at your own pace, and if you have an injury or your symptoms change you simply let us know and we can adapt things for you on the day.

A key element of the Neuro Heroes approach is the community we have built. You will not only benefit from our support but also that of like minded individuals who attend our small group sessions.

With our live online classes, you get the same benefits as face-to-face classes, but with the added advantage that you can access our expertise from anywhere. Plus, there's no need to factor in travel time.

To get the most out of the class you will need some light and medium weights. If you do not have these then 2 tins from the kitchen, books or bottles of water are good substitutes.

Participants are required to complete an online assessment form before their first class to ensure they are placed in the most appropriate session.

First class free! Pricing starts from £10 per class, depending upon the membership level. Alternatively, our pay-as-you-go fee is £15 per class. We also offer free and heavily subsidised places in our classes to people who meet certain criteria.
