Moving with Music (St Albans)
This is a dance class that has been specially designed for people with Parkinson’s.
Classes start with seated exercises to warm up muscles and increase mobility, followed by choreographed movements to well-known songs, and rhythm exercises to improve coordination.
Standing exercises (supported by a chair) include modified ballet moves to improve balance, and improvisation for creative expression.
Finally, there is simplified dancing in a variety of styles from ballet to Bollywood.
We stay a short while for refreshments and a chat after.
£5 per session, pay on the door. Dates can change, so don’t forget to check that the class is running on the specified date if you want to come.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help organise and run our activities across Watford, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans, if you feel you have a few hours to spare each month then please contact Kate Watson the local volunteer officer on [email protected] or 0344 225 3613
