Movement Matters for Parkinson's, Shotts

Getting Better Together aims to deliver a series of bespoke physical activity sessions tailored to the need of people living with Parkinson’s. The sessions will be selected by those attending and they  aim to help people with Parkinson`s become and stay active. The focus is on exercises and sports that improve balance, strength and coordination,

Sessions will last 90 minutes with one hour of a selected physical activity session and 30 minutes of social connections including teas, coffees and snacks for participants  There is also  space for carers to connect either informally with one another or with their Community Carer Connector.  Classes are inclusive to all abilities, with optional exercises for each session. This can include chair-based options when required.

We ask that participants wear comfortable clothing for physical activity. Sessions will be free of charge and will be led by qualified staff in each domain of the project whether that be Tai-Chi or circuit training. The building is fully accessible for wheel chair users and has appropriate accessible toilets and safe spaces for taking medication
