Sevenoaks Indoor Bowls

Indoor Bowls for people affected by Parkinson's.

Equipment: For the beginner, all equipment can be borrowed from the reception desk – shoes (with no heel) and bowls. Trainers are not permitted. If you like the game, you may wish to purchase your own shoes and bowls.

The aim of the game is to get all of your bowls as close to the ‘jack’ (a small marker ball at the end of the rink) as possible. Each bowl in a set of four, is identical to each other and has a bias. This causes it to run in an arc. This requires the skill of the bowler to deliver the bowl at the correct angle, with the correct amount of thrust from the arm to ensure is reaches the jack or wherever you require the wood to stop – perhaps to block an opponent.

There are strict regulations in place to keep the activity safe, anyone joining the session will be advised of the safety regulations and will be expected to comply with them.

The branch subsidise the sessions so you just pay £4 per session.
