Edinburgh Parkinson's Lecture 2026

This year’s Edinburgh Parkinson’s Lecture will take place at 7.15pm on the evening of Tuesday 22nd September before a live audience at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. The Lecture will also be streamed live to our online audience.

The 2026 Edinburgh Parkinson’s Lecturer is Prof Miratul Muqit. He is the inaugural Director of the UK Dementia Research Institute Parkinson’s Research Centre, based at the University of Edinburgh. The title of his Lecture is:

Power failure in the Brain: the mitochondrial basis of Parkinson’s Disease
