Don’t Let Parkinson’s Slow You Down!
The Eastwood Parkinson's Exercise Group is supportive and welcoming, with each week focusing on a different aspect important to people with Parkinson’s. Exercise to music helps to build up strength, improve balance and muscle control and very importantly self-confidence.
All the exercises are delivered in a variety of ways allowing each member to work within their abilities and after each session we enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits, where we can talk freely in a non judgemental environment.
Activities include:
- voice / vocal exercises
- warm ups to help mobilise joints
- seated exercise to improve flexibility and improve strength
- coordination exercises
- balance exercises
- cardio exercises
- cool down stretches
The exercise sessions, led by John, are all done to a variety of music making it more fun.
Carers and partners are always welcome.
It is important that each person keeps hydrated, therefore bringing a water bottle is advisable, we do have water and
cups available. The hall is fully accessible and equipped with accessible toilets.
No specialised clothing is required but it is best to wear comfortable footwear that is non-slip.
The cost of the session is £5. (First session free).
