Dancing for Health CIC - Seated Dancing (Chesterfield)
Dancing for Health is a not for profit organisation that uses both partner dancing and seated dancing as a physical and social activity to help people with long term health conditions, the elderly, disabled, reduced fitness or mobility issues.
The seated dancing classes are chair based exercise classes that support people through the power of dance. They have all the fun of dancing but in a chair.
Although primarily aimed as an exercise class for those less able, the class can also be done standing. The routines are fun and easy, mostly upper body movements choreographed to uplifting music. The versatility of being chair based means participants with health conditions can manage longer sessions than if they were standing.
They are fully inclusive and get everyone involved no matter what their ability. Suitable for wheelchair users, static seated or standing. The classes are incredibly beneficial and versatile. They help improve fitness, mobility, strength and coordination. The exercise sessions are followed by refreshments and time to socialise.
Carers and partners are also welcome. Phone to book your place. Classes in person and online available.
The cost is £5 per session.
