Dance for Parkinson's Scotland - Alva

Dance for Parkinson’s Scotland classes

Specially trained Dance Artists lead participants to develop movement skills with particular focus on the fluidity of movement, balance, coordination, expression, posture, and rhythm. The classes also include activities focused on problem-solving, improvisation, vocal skills, repetition from memory, and multi-tasking, which are all key areas for people living with Parkinson's.

Face-to-face classes feature live music accompaniment, with time for participants to socialise afterwards with tea and coffee. Carers and family are welcome to attend at no cost.

Classes are on Wednesdays at 10.30am, and are followed by a social cafe, at the Cochrane Hall, Alva.

These sessions are suitable for those people with no dance experience and will develop a participant's confidence and creativity, whilst addressing Parkinson's specific concerns such as; balance, flexibility, coordination, gait and social isolation.

Choose to pay £8 per session, or buy a block of 10 for £70.
