Dance and Connect for Parkinson's

Are you living with Parkinson’s and looking for a way to be more active? Then why not join us for a weekly session of fun dance and movement, seated and standing. Using different genres of music, a gentle warm up will be followed by more energetic routines along with voice work and group dancing. We use a colourful and varied range of props to enhance our dance.

Dance can be a great way to improve balance, posture, increase the fluidity of movements and help to manage some of your symptoms. Suitable for people who are able to get to the venue, either aided or unaided.

At the end of each session we have a friendly natter and a cuppa and swap information.

Please wear something easy to move in and wear layers that can be taken off, as the Hall can feel chilly until the heating kicks in/we get warmed up. Soft shoes are best. Water can be provided.

Chairs in the hall are plastic, so please bring a small towel to sit on. Partners/carers/family members are welcome at no charge.

The first sessions is free to people with Parkinson's who would like to try it out. Then there is a cost of £3.50 payable in blocks of 5 to Forest of Dean District Council.

Access from a gravel covered car park is via 4 steps or a ramp to a side door. There is a slight step up to the front door.

Advanced booking is required. Please contact Erica Sheppard to book by calling 01594 812398 or email [email protected]
