Connect & Flow Classes: Dance and Movement
Embodied and relational dance and movement sessions led by Dr Mel Brierley, an experienced dance and health practitioner and registered somatic movement educator with ISMETA.
Mel has facilitated classes for the Parkinson’s community for the past 17 years. Her PhD (University of Roehampton) focused on dance and movement as home-based one-to-one practice.
Connect & Flow classes are inclusive and suitable for all levels through chair-based, standing, and travelling practice.
Classes promote:
- Teacher-led and improvised movement for greater stamina, strength, balance, coordination, and proprioceptive awareness.
- Improved cognitive switching, planning and execution of movement. Working with movement visualisations, creativity, and the imagination.
