Christchurch Group Meeting

We offer information and support to people affected by Parkinson's.

We don't have a meeting in December and instead will go for a Christmas Lunch. 

Our 2025 programme of meetings is below:

  • January Monday 27th: Valerie Young  ‘Lawrence’
    The Man, the History, the Local Connections.
  • February Monday 24th: AGM
  • March Monday 24th: Kevin Patience  ‘The Bridge over the River Kwai’
    The story of the Film, the History & what remains of the railway today.
  • April Monday 28th: Charles Rees  ‘Alcohol Reconsidered’
    Alcohol has a lot of bad press, is it really deserved?
  • May Monday 19th (3rd): Christopher Legrand  ‘Around the World in Music & Pictures’
    The Music, History & from around the world.
  • June Monday 23rd: Denis Carlton  ‘Charles Dickens’
    Following his excellent ‘Mr Selfridge’, actor Denis regales us with the life & times of the author.
  • July Monday 28th: Bill Combes  ‘International Space Station’
    All about the International Space Station.
  • August Monday 18th (3rd): The Land Girls  ‘Musical nostalgia for our Summer Party’
    Hits from the 40s, 50s, 60s & 70s.
  • September Monday 22nd: Richard Hutley  ‘Isaac Gulliver-Smuggler’
    Life & Times of Isaac, notorious Dorset smuggler.
  • October Monday 27th: Miranda Pender  ‘Musical Musings’
    A musical combination of Victoria Wood & Pam Ayres.
  • November Monday 24th: Jane Glennie  ‘How do you take yours?’
    Set at a 1950s tea party and includes local stories of tea smuggling as well as etiquette tips.
  • December – Date TBC: Christmas Lunch 

Please note that our meetings occasionally take place on the 3rd Monday of the month instead of the 4th. When this happens, we've marked the date with "(3rd)" for clarity.
