Chair Yoga (Pilton)
This gentle form of Yoga is done in a chair, or with the support of a chair. My classes includes stretching and strengthening of muscles, working with individual joints, breathing exercises, relaxation and mindfulness/meditation.
The class is suitable for anyone wanting to practice in a chair, with the aid of exercise bands, balls and Yoga blocks for support and strengthening (equipment provided).
The essence of Yoga is brought to this chair-based practice for wellbeing, body and mind. This is an inclusive class in which modifications are given to make the practice suitable for all abilities and experience levels.
This one hour class begins with grounding, being present and breathwork, followed by exercises performed mindfully on the breath, and we finish with a relaxation and sometimes a short meditation.
Please wear socks and loose clothing with layers to adjust your temperature. Shoes are usually removed but if you prefer you can keep shoes on. Partners/carers welcome to join if support is required (but please contact me to discuss in advance).
Booking in advance is necessary for this popular venue. The costings are as follows:
- £8 per class with purchase of an 'Early Bird whole term ticket'
- £10 per class for a 'Single class ticket' (only available when the class is not fully booked)
We meet in the New Room at Pilton Playing Fields Pavilion which is not wheel chair accessible (there is one step up into the venue). There is a large toilet on the same level of the building.
