Cardiff Branch Boccia

Boccia (Pronounced as in 'gotcha') is a precision ball sport related to bowls and petanque. It is played by competitors who can have a physical disability and can be played from a seating position. It is a paralympic sport.

We are a thriving group enjoying the camaraderie of a team game with enthusiastic competitiveness. Although we are made up of primarily People with Parkinson's, all are welcome regardless of disability. We will even accept fit people!

Please take a look at this short video (lasts 6.31) which illustrates what happens in a typical Boccia session.  The first part of the video relates to a woman called Jules King and her fight against Parkinson's.  The second part of the video, from 2.47 to 5.07, shows what happens in a typical Boccia session so you can see for  yourself what this session is about.
