British Nordic Walking for people with Parkinson's - Southwell

British Nordic Walking is a very valuable form of exercise to improve upper and lower body fitness. It is excellent for core stability and therefore improves balance.

These sessions cater for all people with Parkinson's who are able to walk. Poles are provided free of charge.

A 10 minute warm up followed by 40 minutes walking with instructions then the sessions are finished with a 10 minutes cool down.

Individuals are able to go at their own pace with regular stops when required.

Risk assessment for all areas used are in place. The sessions are provided in a voluntary basis with a voluntary £3 contribution towards petrol costs suggested but not compulsory.

Participants are required to wear appropriate clothing for walking and walking boots or trainers. A ruck sack with a water bottle and waterproofs when appropriate.

All participants are welcome to bring a carer, friend, partner etc.

Communication re sessions will be regularly given via email or WhatsApp. Please contact Chris ahead of your first session.
