Boxercise for Parkinson’s

This is a new exercise class for those living with Parkinson’s. The class will combine boxing-inspired movements with cardio and circuit training in a fun, non-contact manner. The class will aim to deliver the following benefits:
- Improved motor functions
- Strengthening of core muscles for better stability and posture
- Combinations and reactions to instructions will encourage cognitive stimulation
- Rhythmic movements of boxing can overcome ‘freezing’

Stress reduction and improved confidence
All sessions will be delivered by a Boxercise for Parkinson’s certified trainer and Level 3 Fitness Instructor.
Due to the nature of the class, it will only be suitable for participants with, up to and including stage 3 Parkinson’s.
Each session will be held by Age Connects Torfaen, at Lliswerry Baptist Church 7 Camperdown Road, Newport, NP19 0JF. Disabled parking available.. All equipment will be supplied.
The cost is £6 per person, £9 per couple if partnered with a carer, with a maximum of 18 participants, so booking in advance is advised. Bookings or if you require any further information can be done by emailing [email protected] or alternatively calling 01495 769264.
