Aqua Aerobics

People living with Parkinson’s from across London are being invited to a regular aqua aerobics class which is helping more people to get active in a fun and social way.

The classes are held in a warm and shallow pool and use music to promote a fun atmosphere. The classes are hosted by Jolanta, an experienced aqua aerobics teacher who is trained to support people with Parkinson’s and can accommodate all ages and levels of mobility, while also helping to challenge your body and mind.

The aqua aerobics can help people to work on their cardio health, while improving strength and balance as well. The class is specifically designed for people living with Parkinson’s and the emphasis is on being active in a fun and social way, and at your own pace.

Carers and family members are also welcome to either take part or to watch the class, and the group often stays for a coffee and a catch-up at a local café.

The swimming pool is only accessible by ladder, so if you think that this may cause difficulties then please let a member of staff know.

There are also warm and comfortable gender separated communal changing rooms and showers. You will need to bring your own towel, toiletries, and swimwear.

The class is held on Wednesdays from 10am to 10.45am for £5 per person per class.

There's no need to register, just come along!
