Horsham and District Branch
For more information about our group, contact us or visit our website: https://horsham.parkinsonsuk.group/
Our local group offers friendship and support to people with Parkinson’s, their families, and carers.
For information and advice on Parkinson’s, or emotional support, call the Parkinson’s UK helpline on 0808 800 0303.
Our branch organizes various popular activities four days a week, almost every week of the year. We believe that keeping moving is crucial in Parkinson’s to slow its progression and enhance overall quality of life. It’s essential to find activities that suit your interests, are enjoyable, and supervised by specialists in the specific activity to maximize benefits and minimize the risk of injury.
We’ve categorized our activities into three intensity levels: high, medium, and low. For more details, visit our website. Each activity is associated with a contact point. We provide information and timings for these activities, and we also have an online calendar to keep you updated on what’s happening.
We recognise the importance of socialisation and problem-solving for individuals with Parkinson’s. We offer two types of meetings: a branch meeting where we invite speakers to discuss various topics, and a working-age group social meeting held in a pub. This latter meeting provides a more informal setting for confidential conversations with other Parkinson’s-affected individuals. For more information, visit our website.
Our branch is supported by a team of friendly volunteers, but we always welcome others who would like to contribute.
In addition to our local activities, we fundraise to support local activities, research, Parkinson’s nurses, and other services. If you’re interested in helping, please get in touch.
